The Enterprise Network

The Enterprise Network is the Department for Education (DfE) funded project lead by the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust (SSAT). It aims to improve the quality and quantity of enterprise education for learners aged 5–19.

In collaboration with SSAT, a series of case studies has been produced, detailing the enterprise initiatives of 11 ASDAN centres:

Employability Student Book Level 1Employability Qualifications (Enterprise Education Pathway)

The Employability Qualifications Enterprise Education Pathway (available at Entry 3, Level 1 and Level 2) is based on 3 units, which support and accredit Enterprise Education.

eapg1Enterprise Short Course

The Enterprise Short Course accredits up to 60 hours of Enterprise activity.

The programme is divided into six modules: Your Entrepreneurial Skills; Generating Enterprising Ideas; Enterprise Planning; Your Enterprise Evaluation; Enterprise and Business; and Your Enterprise in Action.

The Certificate of Personal Effectiveness qualification contains a Work-related Learning and Enterprise module at Levels 1 and 2, and a Work-related Activities module at Level 3.

The Key Steps programme is designed for KS3 learners and features 20 Enterprise-related activities in its Enterprise module.

CPD Resources for Teachers of Enterprise Education

ASDAN has created a series of five Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Modules around Enterprise for the Enterprise Network, in collaboration with SSAT.

Each Module contains CPD activities which would involve a commitment of between 6-12 hours of focused development and training. Each module can be used as stand-alone resource or as a series:
