To date, the xl scheme has helped almost 60,000 young people. They work on a personal development curriculum comprising six main areas:
- Personal, interpersonal and team skills
- Citizenship and community awareness
- Community-based project
- Residential activity
- Entrepreneurship and enterprise
- Preparation for work/training
Structure and progression
The Award can be achieved at three levels - Bronze, Silver and Gold. It is accredited by ASDAN and can lead to qualifications in the Wider Key Skills of Improving own Learning and Performance, Problem Solving and Working with Others.
Registration
Centres wishing to run the xl Awards should download, complete and return the Prince's Trust-specific ASDAN centre registration form.
There is an annual centre registration fee payable every September to cover the period from 1st September to 31st August for each academic year that you are delivering the xl awards. Please note: This fee is separate to the ASDAN centre fee, payable if you are delivering other ASDAN programmes and qualifications. There is no additional centre registration fee for xl centres to run Wider Key Skills with ASDAN.
