ASDAN Diplomas in Life SkillsDiploma in Life Skills logo

The Diplomas in Life Skills are QCF qualifications based around the development of personal, social and employability skills.

Funding is available for the Diplomas in Life Skills through the YPLA (16-19) and SFA (post-19).

Who are the Diplomas for?

The Entry Level Diplomas in Life Skills sit within Foundation Learning and are aimed at learners pre- and post-16 years, working at Entry level 1, 2 or 3.

Candidates who have achieved equivalent units from ASDAN's Personal Progress, PSD and/or Employability qualifications at Entry level can have these credited towards the Diplomas in Life Skills. Download the information sheet to find out more about how this works.

Structure

The Entry 1, 2 and 3 Diplomas in Life Skills are made up of a range of units covering the following areas:

  • Independent Living
  • Personal and Social Development
  • Community Awareness
  • Personal Safety
  • Preparation for Work

To achieve the Diplomas in Life Skills, candidates are required to select appropriate units to accrue a minimum of 37 credits.

Read the Diploma in Life Skills information sheet here. Find out more about the content of the units by downloading the Diploma in Life Skills standards. Please note that centres registering to deliver Life Skills will receive a printed copy of the Standards with Guidance, which provides key information on how to interpret and implement the standards. Download sample units from the Standards with Guidance.

Training

All centres must have an ASDAN-trained co-ordinator. Training is available as part of the Entry Qualifications workshop.

Training is also available as part of the Employability workshop, for centres that wish to focus mainly on Preparation for Work units.
