Adrian Sladdin
I am Regional Manager for London and the South-East with particular responsibility for South-East London centres. I have worked for ASDAN for over five years and originally worked with Key Steps at my previous school in Lincolnshire in 2000, before graduating to the dizzy heights of CoPE Level 3. I am a trained English and Mathematics teacher and for some years was a Senior Examiner with AQA for the GCSE English Language paper. Currently I manage the LSE team but also have a particular interest in working on projects with national and international organisations and I am looking at developing the skills and employability agenda with employers and businesses.

I joined ASDAN at the beginning of 2008 after working for a number of years in the non-formal sector at both a local and national level. Here I gained experience with various forms of accreditation and managed an NVQ centre. Previously I had been involved in project managing various construction contracts. As Assistant Regional Manager I coordinate the external moderation activity within the region. I also have the brief to work with the non-formal sector and can assist with customised accreditation. I am the regional lead for our volunteering qualifications. As the Area Co-ordinator for Surrey and Sussex centres, I am able to advise on a variety of programmes and qualifications including CoPE/AoPE, Wider Key Skills, CVQ, Employability and Short Courses.

I worked in a Sixth Form College unit for post-16 learners (delivering programmes such a Towards Independence and Workright) and in a mainstream school, first as a learning support teacher and then as SENCO.
I am the principal moderator for Entry 1 Personal Progress, and have been involved in establishing and writing this course, as well as Entry level PSD and the Diploma in Life Skills. I also moderate Personal Progress, PSD and Employability and run moderation meetings for Preparatory programmes in Essex, Suffolk, Kent, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire and London.
I am the lead trainer for Personal Progress, the Diploma in Life Skills and Entry level PSD in our region, delivering INSETs, workshops and support meetings.

I joined the London and South East team in September 2010 as a full-time External Moderator for Personal Progress, PSD, Employability and Wider Key Skills. I also conduct audits in the region reviewing centres’ policies and procedures for running qualifications. From September 2011, I have been running Bronze/Silver Award and Preparatory moderation meetings, mainly in the Surrey and Sussex area. Before working for ASDAN I worked in the care sector for adults with learning difficulties then in employment training and further education for 16-25 year olds with learning difficulties. I co-ordinated and developed a variety of ASDAN courses in that time including Workright, Life Skills and Personal Progress.
