Dear Colleagues,
From Bexhill to Braintree, from Bromley to Bracknell, from Balham to Brockley...welcome to the regional pages for all ASDAN centres in London and the South-East!
We have, as ever, a strong team of seven full-time and many part-time members of staff ready to offer you support, advice and guidance wherever you are in the area and whichever ASDAN programmes or qualifications you are following. Look out for support meetings in your area as well as a full range of training workshops, including some new additions, all of them based in our own ASDAN offices or our new venues in London (dates listed below).
Please remember that moderation procedures for both the Main Awards and the Preparatory Awards have changed for this academic year: you will find full details in the Secure Area. Overall, however, most ASDAN programmes remain substantially the same.
The regional team will once again represent ASDAN in the Lord Mayor’s Show on the second Saturday in November and this will again be televised. This year we will have an international theme to reflect our growing global network with the slogan ‘ASDAN Education – helping the world achieve more’. Please also follow ASDAN Education on Twitter as well as your own regional representative and join in the conversation. You will equally be able to have your say at Linked In for the region. We hope that offers you plenty of scope to get involved.
Early reports suggest that summer 2011 was particularly successful in the region with regard to both outcomes and the quality of work on show. This continues rely on the hard work and dedication of our co-ordinators; we hope that 2011/12 is even better and we wish you all an excellent year.
As ever, we are looking for examples of good practice, exciting news and unusual stories from your ASDAN students to feature on this website and in the ASDAN Bulletin. Please forward stories of interest to Carol Noble.
Best wishes,
Regional Manager, London and South-East

In the region we are also piloting a new way of keeping in touch with other centres and receiving up-to-date information – through the professional networking site ‘Linked In’. We will be building appropriate groups so you only network and receive information relevant to the courses you deliver. Please get in touch with your local contact for more information.
The Lord Mayor's Show 2010
One of the highlights of the academic year so far in this region was when the ASDAN float sailed through the City of London as part of the Lord Mayor’s Show. Our float was seen by the thousands of people who lined the streets on November 13th, as well as a huge audience on national television. We hope that this will become an annual appearance that really promotes ASDAN in both London and the South-East, as well as across the United Kingdom and beyond!
