Award of Personal Effectiveness (AoPE) Workshops
Who are these workshops for?
These workshops are for staff who wish to introduce AoPE Levels 1 & 2 within their centre. Practitioners who want to receive training on AoPE Level 3 should attend the Level 3 Qualifications workshop instead.
All workshop sessions will be led by staff who have extensive experience of running various ASDAN programmes with young people of all abilities, and who also understand the management and administration issues involved.
Please note: Practitioners who have already received training for CoPE (via an ASDAN workshop or ASDAN INSET) are advised to attend an AAIMs for AoPE workshop, which will build on your understanding of CoPE to help you grasp AoPE. There are currently no AAIMS for AoPE workshops planned.
What is AoPE?
The Award of Personal Effectiveness is a qualification outcome of the ASDAN Award programmes – it is a shorter version of the Certificate of Personal Effectiveness (CoPE) and carries half GCSE-equivalent Performance Table points. AoPE is approved by Ofqual, sits within the Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) and is eligible for use in Foundation Learning provision at Level 1.
To achieve the qualification, students must meet the standards from a choice of the following units:
- Introduction to Working with Others (L1)/Team Working (L2)
- Planning and reviewing learning
- Dealing with problems in daily life
- Planning and carrying out research
- Group discussion
- Preparing for and giving a presentation
- Developing self
Workshop cost (full day)
£190 for first delegate
Additional delegate rate: £135
