Training & Events
Throughout the year, ASDAN offers a wide range of staff development training workshops. Held in venues across the UK and Ireland, these workshops offer a friendly, accessible and hands-on introduction to ASDAN's programmes and qualifications. The majority of workshops are full-day courses with lunch, refreshments and training materials provided.
Training is mandatory for the CoPE, AoPE, Personal Progress, Volunteering, Employability, Diplomas in Life Skills, PSD Entry and PSD Level 1&2 qualifications and is highly recommended for anyone running or planning to run an ASDAN programme. All workshops cover the processes involved, offer guidance on delivery and moderation and explain how to maximise the benefits of each programme.

Please note: the Programmes Workshop covers ASDAN Bronze, Silver, Gold and the Short Courses. The Entry Qualifications Workshop covers PSD Entry 1-3, Employability Entry 2&3, Entry 1 Qualifications in Personal Progress, Diplomas in Life Skills Entry 1-3 and Award in Volunteering at an Event Entry 3. The Level 3 Qualifications Workshop introduces ASDAN's Level 3 qualifications: AoPE, CoPE, Community Volunteering, Employability and Wider Key Skills.
ASDAN’s Briefing Seminars are designed to introduce new developments and offer an overview of ASDAN’s programmes and qualifications. They show how you can get the most out of ASDAN’s programmes, in terms of rewarding achievement and improving results. The focus of these events varies from term to term, so please see the Briefing Seminars page for detailed information.
Arranging an INSET training day in your centre is an alternative way to ensure your staff are equipped to deliver the wide range of ASDAN Programmes and Qualifications on offer. It can also encourage team-building and help develop a shared approach to ASDAN within your centre.
