Qualifications News
AoPE: Ofqual have approved our application to amend the current AoPE standards. The Working with People in Groups and Working Towards Goals units will be replaced with Introduction to Working With Others and Planning and Reviewing Learning units in January 2011. Download the Cover Note and Standards for more information about the AoPE amended units at Level 1. Functional Skills announcement: After much careful consideration and discussion at ASDAN, we have decided not to proceed with the submission of Functional Skills qualifications for accreditation. This means that ASDAN will not be offering Functional Skills qualifications for the planned 'roll-out' from September 2010. Click this link for an explanation of the reasons for this decision. We are committed to completing year three of the pilot and to providing full support to pilot centres, offering three assessment opportunities (January, March and June 2010) for English, Mathematics and ICT at all levels from Entry 1 to Level 2 as planned. Download this document for advice to pilot centres. The Certificate of Personal Effectiveness qualifications at Levels 1 and 2 have now had their approval extended by Ofqual, with a certification end date of December 2014, and Level 3 has been extended with a certification end date of December 2015.

PSD Resouce Pack
The PSD Resource Pack is a great resource to support teachers, tutors and facilitators as they guide their students through the introduction and implementation of Personal and Social Development (PSD) qualifications. The pack complements the student book for PSD Levels 1 and 2, but the resource sheets contained in the pack are primarily designed to support the work of Level 1 students. For every Level 1 challenge there is at least one worksheet, providing opportunities for recording evidence or simply ideas for development. Download sample pages from the publication for examples. It is available now from the online catalogue, priced £113.36. It is the only resource of its type that is fully approved by ASDAN.
