ASDAN /RDA collaborative project: Recognising, Rewarding and Celebrating Achievement.
A pilot project has been developed to encourage young people who participate in RDA activities to use ASDAN's 'Transition Challenge' to record and reward their achievements.
The activities within the 'Transition Challenge' Award provide structure and cohesion to those activities that are currently used within the context of RDA sessions. RDA have appointed an Educational Co-ordinator (Eco) in each of the 13 pilot regions. The first ASDAN training event for Eco's took place in Scropton, Derbyshire in June '05 and there have been subsequent events in Coventry and Leeds. From September '05 the Eco's are working with one or two RDA school groups in their region using the 'Transition Challenge'. Riders completing the 'Transition Challenge' using activities within the context of RDA sessions will be awarded a special RDA/ASDAN 'Transition Challenge' certificate. It is anticipated that this project will develop to involve other ASDAN Awards and qualifications to recognise and reward the achievements of young people and adults engaged in RDA-related activities.
Following successful moderation of work, undertaken at Middleton Park Equestrian Centre, a selection of RDA riders attended Woburn Golf Club on 19th May '06 and was presented with their ASDAN/RDA Transition Challenge certificates by HRH Princess Anne
