Wider Key Skills

These documents are intended to support candidates in providing sufficient and valid evidence for assessment to meet the requirements of each unit of the wider key skills. They have been developed with reference to the different parts of the national standards.

Level xl Silver Award Level 1 Wider Key Skill xl Gold Award Level 2 Wider Key Skill Plan, Do and Review have been designed to:
  • Provide a framework which helps candidates with the planning of specific activities
  • Help candidates show how the planning process relates to the purpose of the activity or challenge undertaken
  • Allow the assessor to confirm that specific areas of performance have been carried out as required within the specifications
  • Provide a framework which helps candidates review the processes involved and develop better ways to tackle future activities
Plan, Do, Review (PDR)

The documents reflect the plan, do, review process of the wider key skills, and this is indicated on the top of each page. There are therefore, in most cases, three pages for each key skill at each level, reflecting these three stages.

How to Unlock Recording Documents
We have constructed the recording documents for CoPE (including the Plan, Do, Review forms) with standard layout and settings, and this default version has been "locked" in order to prevent changes to the layout. It is not normally possible for students to alter these settings. However, some centres may wish to unlock the documents in order to allow their students to use the spell check feature within Microsoft Word. To do this simply follow these instructions.
