Current vacancies - chair of trustees and board members

ASDAN is on a mission to transform the life chances of children and young people.

We are embarking on the next stage of our journey with the aim of fostering learners’ personal, social and work-related abilities, and have ambitious plans to strengthen and expand.

We are looking for a chair of trustees to lead our board and work with the chief executive to help guide our creative and motivated team through this exciting phase. We are also looking for professionals from the charity, education and commercial sectors to broaden the skills and experience of our existing board.

Detailed knowledge of the education sector may be useful but is not a requirement. More important is a commitment to ASDAN’s vision and values, and the knowledge and expertise to help us realise our exciting plans. We would particularly welcome applications from those with specific experience in:

  • Digital technology/ IT
  • Education, particularly alternative provision, SEND and post-16
  • Employment law
  • Financial strategy
  • Health and safety
  • Marketing and PR
  • Procurement (including contract management and due diligence)

We want to build a diverse and inclusive board that reflects the young people we serve, and encourage and welcome applications from suitably qualified candidates from all backgrounds and perspectives. We are also keen to encourage and mentor young professionals looking to develop leadership skills. There will be a comprehensive induction and support programme for all new trustees.

For more information or to apply, please download an information pack or contact Holly Edwards, Clerk to Trustees ( or 0117 954 3976). Applications will close on 31 August 2018 with interviews likely to take place in September and October 2018.
