What is it?

Workskills Online provides web-based multiple-choice assessments to help learners get ready for further learning, training or employment. These assessments, designed around real world scenarios, offer a practical way of developing and demonstrating the important knowledge, understanding and skills needed for the workplace.

Each diagnostic test features a series of questions based on the vital skills all learners require, whether they are engaged in an apprenticeship, studying full-time, preparing for the workplace or needing to refresh their English and maths knowledge.

After each completed assessment learners will be issued with a certificate showing their result.

Requirements

Once you have purchased the required number of learner credits, you will be able to schedule assessments – either for individuals or for a group of learners. Select the appropriate subject and level and fill out the learners’ details; they will then be issued with a username and password to access the assessment.

Assessments can be taken at any time, or as scheduled by you. You will also be able to monitor progress through the live invigilation viewing experience. Results are available instantly once the assessment has been completed and certificates can be downloaded and printed off to reward achievement.

Diagnostics

Administrators will be able to view a series of reports showing useful data about learners’ completed assessments. This includes information on the time spent per answer, the number of questions attempted and how well learners performed in each skill area.

This data can also be analysed for individual learners, meaning that you can personalise learning by focusing on developing their skills in a particular area and then tracking progression over subsequent assessments.

Getting started

For centres new to ASDAN, your first step is to complete the Centre Registration Form. Current ASDAN centres need to ensure that Workskills Online is added to their centre's registration.

Following registration, you will be given two free learner credits to get you up and running straight away. You will also be able to log in and purchase additional learner credits from the Workskills Online website.
