- Start a conversation with a friend or potential friend appropriately in role play or real life
- Maintain a two-way conversation with a peer over four exchanges e.g. 'Hi, are you enjoying the meal?' 'Yes, thanks.' 'Have you been here before?' 'No, have you?' 'Yes, the food is really good, and it isn’t too expensive'
- Start conversations with four different people in a variety of situations and levels of formality e.g. familiar teacher, school leader, friend from own class, less familiar student from another group
