Plan-Do-Review approach improves writing skills, study shows

New research has provided further evidence of the impact of the Plan Do Review methodology and Learning outside the Classroom on raising achievement in Pupil Premium learners. The study, published by the Education Endowment Foundation, looked at pupils who went on a memorable school trip which was followed by structured writing lessons. Those who took part showed a dramatic improvement in their written work by the end of the project. 

This proven and sustainable approach has always been at the heart of ASDAN's programmes and qualifications. Research by the University of the West of England showed that ASDAN's Certificate of Personal Effectiveness helped pupils do better in GCSE English. Further investigation of the data has suggested that the effect is most significant for those who have intersecting forms of educational or situational disadvantage.
