The wait is over for more than 140,000 Scots pupils who have received their SQA exam results with Higher passes reaching a record level. Meanwhile, the first candidates to study for the new National qualifications have also received their results - this is the first year of the new National qualifications which replaced the Standard Grades.

Over 45% of Scottish secondary schools are ASDAN centres. Congratulations to the 5,085 pupils in Scotland who achieved ASDAN awards this year and to the 563 pupils who gained ASDAN (SCQF) qualifications. These SCQF qualifications will form part of the Senior Phase Benchmarking Tool from Autumn 2014.

Heather Aitken, ASDAN's area co-ordinator for Scotland, said: "These results are truly a reflection of the hard work and commitment of pupils. Well done to all!"
