Ofsted calls for more non-qualification provision at 16-19
Ofsted's report into 16-19 Study Programmes, Transforming 16 to 19 education and training: the early implementation of 16 to 19 study programmes, has found that there has been "disappointingly little change", particularly in schools and academies.
One of the key findings of the report states that "non-qualification and work-related activity is not used enough to develop learners’ wider employability skills for those following academic courses”.
ASDAN has identified a range of appropriate non-qualification curriculum options to develop wider employability skills; these are detailed in the 16-19 Study Programmes booklet.
Study Programmes were introduced in August 2013 as part of a raft of major changes to 16-19 education and training.
