Competition aims to help close education attainment gap
Teachers across England are being given the chance to win up to £15,000 to develop innovative ideas on raising the attainment of students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Education charity SHINE will award the funding to 10 projects that enhance learning in English, maths or science.
Successful ideas might involve after-school programmes or innovative use of technology and could relate to work with whole classes, small groups or individuals. Recent pilots have included peer tutoring and using sport for kinesthetic learning.
Judges will be looking for:
- clear objectives
- a simple, transparent budget
- the potential for expanding the project to more students
The closing date for applications is midnight on 17 April.
