ASDAN accredits skills gained through Lord Mayor’s Show

ASDAN was delighted to take part in the Lord Mayor’s Show in London on Saturday 10 November 2018.

The show dates back to 1215 and is the longest civic procession in the world, with over 6,500 participants, including the original twelve livery companies, charities and schools. This year’s show celebrated the appointment of Peter Estlin as Lord Mayor of the City of London in 2018/19.

ASDAN’s walking float featured over thirty young people from the National Volunteer Police Cadets in Greenwich and from the Resolution Dance Company in West London. The National Volunteer Police Cadets have their own cadet training programmes which are accredited by ASDAN through our Customised Accreditation initiative.

We offer a bespoke arrangement to a range of voluntary and community organisations to recognise learners’ achievements.

Darren Hughes, ASDAN Regional Relationship Manager, said: “It was a superb event to be part of once again and many thanks go to the two organisations who performed so well to make the ASDAN float full of sound, colour, movement and enthusiasm. ASDAN has taken part in the show for the last nine years and we are proud to have formed a working partnership with the show organisers.”

As well as taking part in the procession, ASDAN is pleased to recognise the contribution of participants to the show and the experience and skills gained by providing them with certificates.
