Three popular Short Courses updated for summer 2019

ASDAN has updated three popular titles from the Short Courses range – Expressive Arts, FoodWise and Leadership. These Short Courses have been updated with new challenge content and a fresh design for summer 2019.

ASDAN’s Short Courses offer exciting and engaging activities to develop learners’ skills and knowledge. There are more than 25 titles available to deliver in e-portfolio and student book format, each covering a particular topic or subject. These flexible courses can be tailored to meet the needs of individual learners aged 13 and over, with certification available for 10–60 hours of activity.

Inspiring creativity through Expressive Arts

The Expressive Arts Short Course can be used to support learning in all types of expressive arts, including visual arts, performing arts, music, crafts and writing. The 2019 version of this popular and flexible course features updated module titles, modernised challenge content and new activities around mental health and wellbeing. The careers module has been expanded with more content to prepare learners for careers in the creative industries, the fastest growing sector in the UK economy.

Leading the way with Leadership

The Leadership Short Course can be used to structure leadership activities in a range of contexts – including leading an arts project, coaching a sports team, organising a fundraising campaign, hosting a social event and peer mentoring younger learners. The course provides learners with the opportunity to develop their leadership skills and knowledge through taking on a leadership role or responsibilities; it also includes opportunities for learners to use their experiences to support new leaders.
