New and improved EPQ course materials for 2022

ASDAN’s Level 3 Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) course materials have been improved and updated for 2022.

Launched in 2018, ASDAN’s EPQ enables learners to develop and demonstrate study and work-related skills that are valued by employers and higher education institutes. Aimed at students aged 16 and above, it complements existing vocational or academic full-time study. Through completing the EPQ, learners can boost transferable skills such as project planning, research, analysis and evaluation.

Fully resourced and nationally recognised at Level 3, the EPQ carries up to 18 performance table or 28 UCAS points. Leaners produce a 5,000 word dissertation or an artefact or performance accompanied by a 1,000 word report based on a topic of their choice. With an additional focus on completing the EPQ as part of a work placement, ASDAN’s EPQ offers a unique opportunity to progress towards employment and training.

As part of ASDAN’s ongoing commitment to our members, we have updated the EPQ course materials and resources to improve their clarity and quality. We have refreshed the design of all materials with a focus on accessibility, diversity and inclusion. Images, statistics and reports have also been updated to ensure all references are current and up-to-date.

New suggested delivery model

Fresh for September 2022 is the introduction of a new suggested delivery model resource. This supports the pre-project taught element, with fully planned sessions and resources for 30 guided learning hours. The sessions are closely aligned to the assessment objectives and have been informed by real students’ experiences. This resource is a fantastic tool to help learners develop the study skills required to achieve their goals and maximise their chances of success in their EPQ.
