The learner can:

  • Show knowledge of at least three types of ceremonies (e.g., wedding, naming ceremony, funeral) using their preferred method of communication
  • Answer simple questions about why ceremonies are important to people using their preferred method of communication
  • Identify, match or sort images/symbols related to different ceremonies (e.g., rings, candles, flowers)
  • Select one preferred example of a ceremony from a religion or worldview (e.g., Christian baptism, Muslim nikah, Hindu puja, Humanist naming ceremony)
  • Explore what happens during that ceremony (e.g., special clothing, music, readings, actions)
  • Present information about the ceremony to others by creating a poster, sensory board, simple digital slide, or verbal presentation
  • Compare basic features of two ceremonies using sorting, matching, or verbal discussion (e.g., “both use candles”, “this one uses water”)
