The learner can:

  • Explain in simple terms what money is used for (e.g. 'We use money to buy food or clothes')
  • Participate in a group discussion about what money is used for, drawing pictures of items that require money (e.g. food, clothes, toys)
  • Roleplay a shopping scenario
  • Select at least three items in a shop or role-play scenario that require payment, and identify their prices using price tags or labels
  • Choose three items and read the price tags aloud
  • Match items to their prices using flashcards or a worksheet
  • Use a shopping list to find and price items in a classroom shop setup
