The learner can:
- Write or type single words to label familiar classroom, home or community objects (e.g. book, bus, coat, apple)
- Use a model or word bank to spell and copy simple words correctly
- Write short captions of up to five words for photos or pictures (e.g. We went on the bus, Cooking apple crumble)
- Use basic punctuation where appropriate (e.g. capital letter at the start, full stop at the end)
