- Identify a plaited mane or tail from photographs or real examples
- State one reason why horses may have their mane or tail plaited, such as keeping hair tidy or preparing for an activity
- Indicate whether a horse looks calm or unsettled during plaiting using words, signs or symbols
- Help gather basic grooming or plaiting tools with support
- Take part in gentle brushing of the mane or tail under supervision
- Stand in a safe position beside the horse during the activity
