The learner can:
- State at least three reasons why good pasture management is important for animal health and welfare (for example: preventing overgrazing, reducing parasite risk, maintaining nutrition, and preventing muddy or unsafe ground)
- Identify at least three signs of poorly managed pasture (for example: bare patches, muddy gateways, weeds, droppings build-up, or uneven fencing)
- State at least one consequence of poor pasture management (for example: risk of injury, loss of grazing, or increased disease)
- Demonstrate safe use of basic tools for pasture care (for example: poo picking, harrowing, fencing repair, or water trough cleaning)
- Show how to recognise and safely remove simple hazards such as litter, poisonous plants, or damaged fencing
- Demonstrate safe working practices while carrying out maintenance tasks (for example: wearing PPE, working with supervision, maintaining awareness of animals)
