Assessment criteria
(What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome)
The learner can:
- Check that the wheel, pedals and H-shifter are positioned safely before use
- Sit in a suitable driving position
- Follow agreed safety rules for using the simulator
- Select a chosen circuit and vehicle for the session
- Start and end a timed session appropriately
- Use the clutch, accelerator and brake to control the car
- Change up and down through the gears at suitable points
- Identify the racing line on at least three corners
- Identify a braking point before at least three corners
- Carry speed through corners while keeping the car under control
- Complete at least one controlled timed lap, aiming to avoid off-track moments or collisions
