Assessment criteria
(What the learner need to demonstrate in order to meet the learning outcome)
The learner can:
- Observe several sessions run by a qualified practitioner
- Understand how the session is split into different parts e.g. starter, warm up, activity, cool down, reflection etc
- Discuss the sessions with a relevant adult and discuss observations
- Plan a starter or warm up activity for a group of students and discuss the plan with an appropriately qualified adult
- Make changes to the plan following feedback
- Plan a main activity and cool down for a group of students and discuss the plan with an appropriately qualified adult
- Make changes to the plan following feedback
- Assess the risks that could come from the activity that has been designed
- Complete a risk assessment from a proforma for the activity
- Present the risk assessment to the group and take feedback
- Plan the questions that will be used in the session to further the learning of the group, with reference to what was observed previously
- Plan the specific vocabulary that will be used in the session to support the learning outcomes
