ASDAN is delighted to welcome Javid Mahdavi to its board of trustees. Javid brings almost 20 years' experience of education governance, alongside a career in education technology.
He has chaired the trustees of Sheffield UTC Academies Trust, which runs three University Technical Colleges, since December 2021. He is also a trustee of Nexus Multi-Academy Trust, which provides specialist education for children and young people with complex needs.
Javid is managing director of Nexus Associates (ICT) Limited, which works with schools, academy trusts and public-sector capital programmes. He is an ambassador for the Foundation for Education Development. He also supports the Department for Education through external review of its Digital Standards for Schools and Colleges.
Javid said: "I'm delighted and genuinely honoured to be joining the Board of Trustees at ASDAN."
He added: "I've become increasingly convinced that there cannot be a single definition of success in education. Young people have different strengths, different starting points and different ambitions."
"I'm looking forward to bringing my experience of education, strategy, organisational growth, technology and governance to the Board, but equally to learning from the team, my fellow trustees and, importantly, the learners and organisations ASDAN supports."
Javid joins as ASDAN develops its digital offer and grows its reach in the UK and internationally. ASDAN is also contributing more to the wider conversation about skills, inclusion, assessment and the future of education.
