ASDAN is launching our new digital learning platform, Equitas, to support educators and learners.
Equitas has been developed using feedback from our members and their learners to make engaging with ASDAN courses a more simple and flexible process. The platform will make it easier to plan, do and review challenges, reducing paperwork and providing clear guidance to help learners succeed. The following key features have been included within the platform.
Planning
- Educators can easily build a Short Course by selecting only the challenges they want their learners to complete.
- Learners also have space for agency, with the option to explore and select challenges themselves.
- Challenges can be blended to create a bespoke set of tasks and outcomes, tailored to the length and level of each challenge.
Doing
- Improved learner access and guidance.
- Educators and learners are guided on the skills that best demonstrate in each learning challenge.
- Learners and educators can upload evidence directly to the platform.
- Centres can also support learners working from printed PDFs, with staff uploading evidence on their behalf.
Reviewing
- No more printing and storing bulky folders – portfolios can now be submitted entirely digitally.
- For some learners, a physical portfolio will still be best, and we will continue to support this option.
- Internal quality assurance can be completed digitally, making it easier to monitor and track progress.
- Learners and educators can identify where skills have been demonstrated and how improvement has been shown throughout the course.

The first release of Equitas will include a wide range of Short Courses such as Animal Care, Environmental, Foodwise, PSHE, Sports and Fitness, and many more.
A selection of learners are already using and testing Equitas, with wider access available soon. See which courses will be on the platform and find out more on our digital learning webpage.
