Empowering educators: ASDAN advances access, inclusion and equity through integrated membership

From April 2026, ASDAN membership moves to a streamlined, inclusive model.

What’s included

If you join or renew with ASDAN after 1 April 2026, our enhanced membership brings together everything you need in one clear structure:

  • access to apply to deliver ASDAN’s full suite of programmes and qualifications (subject to approval)

  • continued professional development included as part of membership, so you can train as many colleagues as needed (excluding tailored INSET sessions)

  • centre approval

  • external quality assurance (EQA)

  • in-person moderation

  • ongoing curriculum and delivery support

There are no separate training or approval fees, creating greater transparency and easier planning.

Why it matters

As accountability evolves and trust-level curriculum decisions increase, organisations need solutions that support both attainment and inclusion.

This shift ensures that expertise, professional development and quality assurance remain embedded within organisations, even as staff change. It strengthens ASDAN’s charitable mission to advance skills, diversity and achievement in education.

Melissa Farnham, Chief Executive of ASDAN, states: “This change reflects what educators have told us they need: clarity, continuity and sustained support. By bringing training, approval and quality assurance into one inclusive membership, we are helping organisations plan with confidence and build lasting capability for their learners.”

Access to all programmes and qualifications

Membership now provides access to apply to deliver all ASDAN programmes and qualifications, subject to approval.

Members can support learners across ages, abilities and settings through practical, skills and portfolio-based approaches with the flexibility to expand delivery as needs evolve. Centre approval and in-person moderation are included in membership.

A network shaping inclusive practice

ASDAN’s professional community is committed to inclusive, skills-based education, backed by over 35 years of experience.

Our special interest groups run online termly and focus on specific areas of practice, providing space for discussion, collaboration and networking between ASDAN members. These shared learning sessions create opportunities for co-creation, strengthens practice and build collective insight and contribution to wider sector thinking.

Training, support and expertise built in

Continued professional development through staff training is now included within ASDAN membership (excluding INSET sessions) and can be accessed via the members’ area.

Members can now train as many staff as needed, whether onboarding new colleagues or strengthening delivery as courses evolve. With quality assurance guidance and ongoing curriculum support built in, knowledge and expertise remain within your organisation, even as staff change.

Strengthening the wider offer

Alongside this new structure, ASDAN continues to expand and refresh its portfolio, including:

  • new Foundation Project Qualification (Level 1) and Higher Project Qualification (Level 2) launching September 2026

Membership aligns to a financial-year renewal cycle from 1 April.

Every application begins with a conversation with an education development partner. Speak with an ASDAN expert. Find out more about ASDAN membership.
