ASDAN becomes an affiliate member of the Association of Colleges

ASDAN is now an affiliate member of the Association of Colleges (AoC), the national body representing and promoting the interests of colleges.

The membership runs from September 2026 and gives us a closer link to the further education sector. It includes sector intelligence, campaign opportunities and a place in the AoC affiliate directory, alongside other organisations working to support college students.

Colleges across the UK already use ASDAN courses. Our programmes and qualifications, from pre-Entry to Level 3, develop personal, employability and independent living skills. They are used in study programmes, SEND provision, supported internships and transition.

The membership comes as we extend our project qualifications to Levels 1 and 2. From September 2026, colleges can register learners for our Foundation Project Qualification Level 1 and Higher Project Qualification Level 2.

They sit alongside our Extended Project Qualification Level 3, which carries up to 28 UCAS points and is taken alongside A levels, T Levels and other Level 3 study. Learners can now take a project qualification at the level that fits them, with all three assessed through project work rather than exams.

Gareth Reynolds, Director of Impact and Growth at ASDAN, said: "I know first-hand the vital role colleges play in creating inclusive pathways into further study, employment and independent living. ASDAN is proud to support that work through a meaningful curriculum offer underpinned by skills development and portfolio-based learning. Our focus is on helping learners build confidence, develop core skills and evidence what they can do at each stage of their learning journey. We look forward to working with AoC members to engage, elevate and empower learners across the sector."

We will be at the AoC SEND Conference and Exhibition at the Leonardo Royal Hotel, London, on Thursday 10 December.
