Post-16
Post 16
ASDAN's courses, which can be delivered in all post-16 institutions, range from supporting students during their post-16 transition year to helping young people develop the skills and knowledge to progress on to higher education, training or work.
Our Level 2 Employability qualification helps students develop vital new skills by covering units including teamwork, overcoming barriers to work, career exploration and enterprise.
Our new Personal and Social Effectiveness qualifications are designed for learners in post-16 education, embarking on programmes at Levels 1 and 2. The qualifications will develop 21st century competencies in communication, collaboration and emotional intelligence.
ASDAN's Level 3 Extended Project Qualification carries 28 UCAS points and will help students practise, develop and demonstrate skills that support success in higher education.
A number of higher education institutions (HEIs) recognise the value of ASDAN's Certificate of Personal Effectiveness Level 3 qualification and state that, alongside other Level 3 qualifications, it can contribute to fulfilling entry requirements to a range of higher education courses.
ASDAN programmes provide academic support and skills development for learners undertaking a post-16 transition year.
Our Vocational Taster Short Courses give post-16 transition learners an insight into various employment sectors. We provide courses on:
- Computing
- Construction
- Hair and Beauty
- Hospitality
- Land-based Sector
- Manufacturing
- Uniformed Services
Vocational Tasters provide accreditation for up to 60 hours of activities and are internally moderated.
ASDAN's Accelerating Progress programmes in English and mathematics can be used to support learners in GCSE resits. These courses have been designed to help learners gain a four or five in the new, tougher GCSEs in England.
ASDAN's Careers and Experiencing Work Short Course develops learners' employability skills, supports careers information and guidance and helps young people plan and undertake work experience placements. The course can be used to provide evidence for the Gatsby Good Career Guidance benchmarks. We also provide Short Courses in Enterprise and Leadership, which equip young people with skills to thrive in education and work.
